Comprehensive training for the development of subject curricula for the Professional Team of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton Goražde

The Ministry of Education, Youth, Science, Culture, and Sports and the Pedagogical Institute of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton Goražde, with the support of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosted a three-day seminar on the topic “Comprehensive Training for Developing Subject Curricula for the Expert Team of BPC Goražde.” The seminar took place from June 12, 2024 to June 14, 2024. One of the seminar topics was curricular reform in the educational process, aimed at improving the education system currently implemented at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina and aligning it with European standards.

The lecturers on this topic were eminent experts from our country as well as the region: PhD Ana Pešikan, PhD Snežana Koren, PhD Milica Balaban, M.Sc. Sandra Muratović, and PhD Nezir Halilović, who made significant contributions to the curricular reform process in the Zenica-Doboj Canton. Members of the Expert Team of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton Goražde acquired new knowledge and skills that they will later be able to apply in the educational process, as well as during the development of subject curricula for general secondary education based on learning outcomes.
The seminar was also unique in that participants from the Sarajevo Canton, Zenica-Doboj Canton, West Herzegovina Canton, and Una-Sana Canton attended, sharing their experiences and examples of good practices regarding curricular reform. At this seminar, three-year results, challenges, and experiences regarding the project “Quality Education through Curricular Reform” were presented, as well as examples of good practices in implementing subject curricula based on learning outcomes for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 school year. Representing the Pedagogical Institute Zenica, Aida Salkić, the director of the Pedagogical Institute Zenica, Aldiana Nuhanović, an expert advisor for education affairs, and Amira Mulabdić, a class teacher at JU OŠ “Huso Hodžić” Tešanj, attended the seminar and presented the achievements of the Zenica-Doboj Canton in the field of curricular reform from the perspective of leaders, coordinators, and members of the Expert Team and implementers in practice.
