The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Pedagogical Institute Zenica participated in the implementation of the project “Vocational Education in B&H” in the Zenica-Doboj Canton, based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). Within the project “Vocational Education in B&H”, in the section “Capacity Development of the Pedagogical Institute Zenica with Two Selected Measures for Further Improvement of Work with the Support of GiZ”, Measure 1. Development of New Modular Curricula has been defined.
By implementing the activities from Measure 1, the Pedagogical Institute Zenica has developed a new methodology for the development of curricula in secondary vocational education and training, and in cooperation with representatives of the Secondary Vocational school in Tešanj, a Curriculum was developed for the first two pilot occupations, including the occupation of Woodworking Technician (IV level) and the occupation of Carpenter (III level). The aforementioned curricula will be experimentally applied in the 2023/2024 school year at the Secondary Vocational school in Tešanj in two selected first-grade classes. The development of curricula for the two mentioned professions involved 22 teachers from the Secondary Vocational school in Tešanj, representatives of the local economy from the wood-processing profession, and representatives of the Zenica Pedagogical Institute Zenica in the role of leaders, coordinators, and members.
