On June 10, 2026, the Islamic Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Zenica hosted the 2nd Scientific-Professional Conference with international participation, “Education and Contemporary Challenges – Science in the Service of Practice.” The conference brought together scientists, researchers, university professors, and experts from various fields and countries who deal with issues of upbringing, education, religious education, social pedagogy, inclusion, early and preschool upbringing, language, and literature. Among the participants was Aida Salkić, Director of the Pedagogical Institute Zenica.
This event served as a space for dialogue between theoretical insights and experiences from contemporary practice, dedicated to reflecting on modern education, its challenges, and the role of knowledge, upbringing, and social responsibility in today’s society.
Conference goals:- Improvement of scientific research in the fields of social and humanistic sciences – Strengthening the link between science and educational practice – Exchange of contemporary theoretical and empirical insights – Affirmation of the professional identity of educational and social workers – Critical reflection on contemporary challenges of education in local and international contexts .

The Pedagogical Institute Zenica recognizes this conference as a significant contribution to the development of educational practice in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is particularly important that such gatherings strengthen the connection between theory and practice and open new fields of cooperation among experts from different disciplines. Contemporary education must be dynamic, inclusive, and socially responsible, while science has the obligation to serve practice and the real needs of students, teachers, and the community.
