Meet eTwinning – Step by Step to International Cooperation

Pedagogical Institute Zenica organized a training session and workshop on May 14, 2025, at the Mixed Secondary School in Kakanj, in collaboration with the Agency for Preschool, Primary, and Secondary Education (APOSO). The event, titled “Meet eTwinning – Step by Step to International Cooperation,” was designed for school principals and teachers. 

Representatives from secondary schools in Kakanj and Olovo participated in the training, where they were introduced to the eTwinning platform and its opportunities for international cooperation. The platform allows schools, teachers, and students across Europe to connect, engage in professional development, and implement innovative teaching practices. 

In the introductory part, the attendees were addressed by Murada Ibrahimspahić, Director of the Mixed Secondary School Kakanj; Aldiana Nuhanović, Expert Advisor for the Field of Education at the Pedagogical Institute Zenica and Selma Mahmić, eTwinning Ambassador.

During the workshop, eTwinning ambassador Selma Mahmić presented the platform, highlighting its advantages for educators and students. Participants learned how to find project partners, explored the essential elements of an eTwinning project, and completed individual registrations. A successful project was showcased, inspiring attendees to consider future initiatives. 

Incorporating secondary schools into eTwinning offers numerous benefits, such as: International collaboration, Professional development for teachers, Innovative teaching approaches, Increased student motivation through project-based learning, Opportunities to apply for Erasmus+ projects, providing additional resources for educational enhancement and exchanges  

Participants expressed satisfaction with the training, emphasizing the valuable knowledge and motivation they gained for future projects. As an initiative of the European Union, the eTwinning online community promotes school collaboration through digital technologies, enabling educators and students to work together, share ideas and resources, develop digital skills, and enhance intercultural understanding. 

It is hoped that all participants will take advantage of the platform’s benefits in the future.
