In April and May 2023, a training was held for teachers/professors of the economics group of subjects on the topic “Innovation of Teaching Content in the Subject Entrepreneurship”, as part of the project “Better Governance for Faster Economic Growth” (EGG2), funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, and implemented by the United Nations Development Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH), with which the Pedagogical Institute Zenica has established cooperation. The training also served to detect the needs of teachers when it comes to teaching materials, and the development of the Practical Manual for Teaching in Secondary Schools – Business Plan was initiated, which is also available on the Educational Platform of the Pedagogical Institute Zenica in the Library section.
A business plan is a document within which an analysis of all important segments required for the realization of an entrepreneurial idea has been carried out. The teachers who attended the aforementioned training expressed a positive attitude towards the Manual because, as they say, “it will help them to achieve a better and better implementation of the lesson and enable students to better understand the material.” The manual offers concrete help for the implementation of lessons, etc.” An increasing number of grammar schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina introduce the segment of entrepreneurship in the teaching process with the aim of developing entrepreneurial competence in students as one of the key competences recognized by the European Reference Framework. Undoubtedly, there are great and long-term benefits from these entrepreneurial knowledge and competencies, both for students and for society as a whole.
