At a roundtable discussion dedicated to improving digital and entrepreneurial skills in education, representatives of institutions, schools, the private sector and international organizations exchanged ideas and experiences on the necessary steps to improve the education system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Through the panel discussion, which was organized in two parts on the topics “Digital Education in BiH: Status, Challenges and Perspectives” and “Strengthening Entrepreneurial Skills in BiH”, insight was gained into the current state of digital education in our country through the identification of key challenges and weaknesses, but also through the recognition of opportunities for improving infrastructure and digital competencies of teachers, and the role of the education system in the development of entrepreneurial learning and skills in students.
Aida Salkić, Director of the Pedagogical Institute of Zenica, was also a panelist in the first part. During her presentation, the director presented the results of the activities of the project “Better Governance for Faster Economic Growth EGG2” in the Zenica-Doboj Canton related to the education system, which is jointly implemented by UNDP in BiH and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway.
The focus was on strengthening the IT and entrepreneurial competencies of our students through piloting subject curricula and supporting teachers through training and innovative approaches to education to empower young people to take an active role in social and economic development.
