Teacher training in the field of entrepreneurship

obuke nastavnika

Training for teachers teaching Entrepreneurship from three selected schools in the Zenica-Doboj Canton took place in Zenica on April 25-26 and May 11-12, 2023.

Namely, the project “Better Governance for Faster Economic Growth” (EGG2), funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP in BiH), has established cooperation with five cantons in the Federation of BiH – Bosnian-Podrinje, Herzegovina-Neretva, West Herzegovina, Zenica-Doboj and Tuzla Cantons.

In the past period, the EGG 2 project, in cooperation with the competent cantonal ministries and pedagogical institutes of the aforementioned cantons, initiated activities and provided support with the aim of innovating and improving the existing teaching content of the subject Entrepreneurship in 51 secondary schools in the FBiH. The manual, which was developed after the training, was designed in such a way that it represents a logical and complete unit with all the necessary elements so that it could be implemented through the teaching process in secondary schools. The goal is to encourage the strengthening of the entrepreneurial spirit, skills and knowledge through formal education and thus encourage young people to engage more in the realization of entrepreneurial ideas based on their intellectual and physical abilities.

With the aim of quality integration of innovative content into the teaching process, the EGG 2 project supports strengthening the capacities and competencies of teaching staff through the organization of training for teachers who teach the subject of Entrepreneurship, as well as representatives of pedagogical institutes. The training in Zenica was attended by 12 teachers from three selected secondary schools (Tešanj mixed secondary school, Zenica mixed secondary school and “Mladost” mixed secondary school) and four representatives of the Zenica Pedagogical Institute. The process of strengthening the teaching staff should have a positive effect in the next school year on the 370 students who are studying Entrepreneurship in these three schools.
