The School Hygiene Service of the Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica (INZ), with the support of three ministries of the Government of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Ministries of Health, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, and “Partners in Health”, hosted the webinar “Increasing Safety in Schools”.
The webinar was intended for primary and secondary school teachers in the Zenica-Doboj Canton, with the aim of achieving the best possible systemic solutions in order to jointly contribute to a safer school environment. The project and webinar were planned before the tragic events in Serbia, and later in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and are part of the planned program activities that the School Hygiene Service and the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton have been implementing for many years with the aim of increasing the level of safety in schools.
The participants of the online dialogue were Nino Hasanica, Head of the School Hygiene Service of the Institute, Mirsada Čajlaković, expert advisor for the field of education from the Pedagogical Institute of Zenica, Lejla Ekinović, inspector in the Department for Education of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Nermana Mujčinović, psychologist of the Institute for Addiction Diseases of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, and Esmin Brodlija, psychologist and psychotherapist of the Mental Health Center of the Health Center with an inpatient unit in Kakanj. 62 educators from the same number of schools from the entire Zenica-Doboj Canton actively participated in the webinar. The educators directly participated with their experiences, opinions, suggestions, and questions for the lecturers.
