On Monday, 25 August 2025, a workshop titled “Smart Planning: Creating Inspiring Teaching with the Help of AI Tools” was held at the First Grammar School in Zenica for German language teachers from primary and secondary schools in the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The workshop was organized within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation signed between the Pedagogical Institute Zenica and the Goethe-Institut Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The workshop was attended by 16 German language teachers, whose participation was officially registered by school principals following the Call for Participation sent by the Pedagogical Institute to primary and secondary schools on 28 May 2025.
Through practical exercises and inspiring examples, the teachers had the opportunity to:
- refresh their lesson planning process with innovative approaches and digital tools that facilitate the creation of rich teaching content;
- develop strategies for monitoring student progress in real time and flexibly adapting content to their needs;
- exchange ideas and experiences with colleagues on how AI can enhance not only teaching methodology but also interpersonal dynamics in the classroom;
- discuss ethical aspects, challenges, and opportunities arising from the use of AI in education, with an emphasis on responsible application.
The workshop also presented specific tools and techniques that can be immediately applied in teaching (e.g., ChatGPT, Gamma, Quizizz, ChatTube, Suno, etc.), along with guidelines for their implementation. Through a creative approach, the workshop successfully achieved its goal of encouraging participants to use AI technologies to make teaching more inspiring, effective, and engaging—for both students and teachers.
The teachers showed great interest in acquiring new knowledge, expanding existing skills, and experimenting with various AI tools while exploring their potential in lesson creation. In their evaluations, they also expressed a high level of satisfaction with both the implementation and the content of the workshop, as well as a strong interest in continuing such training.
