The Youth Guarantee is a proven, inclusive and ambitious activation scheme that has been used by European Union Member States since 2013 to enable a smooth transition of young people from school to work, support their integration into the labour market and ensure that no young person is left behind. In the period from October 30, 2023 to October 30, 2023, the first workshop was held for members of the Expert Working Group that will work on the development of the Youth Guarantee Action Plan for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the finalization of which is scheduled for 2027.
The expert group consists of representatives of the Zenica-Doboj and Herzegovina-Neretva Cantons, representatives of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, chambers of commerce, cantonal ministries of labor, social policy and refugees, representatives of the ministries of education, science, culture and sports, representatives of pedagogical institutes and the Institute for Education, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Employers Association, employment institutes from the city of Visoko and the municipality of Čitluk, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Youth Association, representatives of the ILO – International Labor Organization, etc. As part of this activity, it is planned to pilot the Action Plan in the municipality of Čitluk and the city of Visoko in 2026. The workshop was implemented by international expert Irma Lutovac with the support of the ILO team and the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. A member of the Expert Working Group on behalf of the Pedagogical Institute Zenica is Fehim Terzić, an expert advisor for education affairs at Pedagogical Institute Zenica.
