Training: How Schools Can Benefit from eTwinning

he Pedagogical Institute Zenica, in collaboration with the Agency for Preschool, Primary, and Secondary Education (APOSO), organized a training for school directors and teachers/professional associates from the Zenica-Doboj Canton on the topic “How Schools Can Benefit from eTwinning?” The training took place at three locations (Breza, Zenica, and Maglaj) from April 8th to 10th, 2025. The goal of the training was to familiarize school directors and teachers/professional associates with the ESEP and eTwinning platforms and all the opportunities they offer, in order to support teachers in actively engaging in international projects. eTwinning is a community of educational institutions in Europe, where teachers can communicate, collaborate, exchange knowledge and experience, engage in professional development, and become part of the European educational community.

At the opening of the event, the participants were addressed by Aida Salkić, Director of the Pedagogical Institute Zenica, Aldijana Salić and Amila Herceg Hodžić, education consultants, Aida Terzić, eTwinning Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina (APOSO), and Alisa Ibraković, Head of the Sector for Knowledge Standards – Student Achievements and Evaluation in Preschool, Primary, and Secondary Education (APOSO). During the training, the participants were introduced to eTwinning by Ambassador Selma Mahmić, who presented what eTwinning is, who it is intended for, the benefits of eTwinning for schools, directors, and teachers, and assisted them in registering on the ESEP platform and eTwinning.

eTwinning, as a bridge between schools, teachers, and students across Europe, can also serve as a tool in achieving the outcomes of subject curricula applied in the schools of Zenica-Doboj Canton, as well as in developing key competencies.

We thank all the participants for their active involvement and dedication during the training. We believe that the knowledge gained and the experiences exchanged will contribute to the further promotion of eTwinning in our schools, opening doors to international collaboration, innovative learning, and the creation of an inspiring school environment for both students and teachers.
