The 12th Cantonal German Language Competition for Secondary School Students in the Zenica-Doboj Canton was held on 15 March 2025, in the organisation of the Pedagogical Institute Zenica and with the support of the Goethe-Institut Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Second Grammar School in Zenica, which proved to be an outstanding host. The sponsor of the Competition was the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Zenica-Doboj Canton. Headmaster of the Second Grammar School in Zenica, Sumedin Arnaut and the coordinator of the organisation and implementation of the Competition, Sanja Hadžihajdić, an expert advisor for education at the Pedagogical Institute Zenica, delivered welcoming speeches and opened the Competition. Twenty students from 12 secondary schools, accompanied by their 13 teachers, participated and competed at levels A2, B1 and B2 in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Competition tasks, prepared by the Goethe-Institut, covered three language skills – reading comprehension, listening comprehension and speaking. The students showed a high level of knowledge, but also creativity in the presentations they prepared as a result of group work for evaluating speaking skill.
According to the results of the 12th Cantonal German Language Competition for Secondary School Students, the three first-placed students by levels are:

- Irma Tukić, Grammar School „Edhem Mulabdić“ Maglaj,
- Filip Žilić, Catholic School Centre „Don Bosco“ Grammar School Žepče,
Level B2
- Selma Baručija, First Grammar School in Zenica,
- Lajla Hadžiabdić, Mixed Secondary School „Musa Ćazim Ćatić“ Olovo,
- Aid Hasanica, Grammar School „Muhsin Rizvić“ Kakanj.
The three first-placed students, one for each level, earned the right to participate in the Final German Language Competition 2025, which will be held on 11 April 2025 in the organization and on the premises of the Goethe-Institut Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo:
