The inaugural conference “Education for the Future: Strengthening the School System in Three Cantons” was held in Mostar, organized by the International Association “Interactive Open Schools” (MIOS) Tuzla. The conference was attended by representatives of pedagogical institutes from Zenica-Doboj, Herzegovina-Neretva and Tuzla Cantons, as well as schools from these cantons, as well as representatives of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other relevant institutions and organizations.
During the conference, participants had the opportunity to learn about the basic information about the project “Strengthening the school system in three cantons through teacher training and model schools”, exchange experiences and good practices. Two schools from the Zenica-Doboj Canton participated: Primary School “9.septembar” Medakovo, Tešanj and Second Primary School Zavidovići.
The goal is to establish teams of teachers in schools who will work on improving the quality of teaching, for example through the development of new teaching materials aligned with the needs and interests of each child, as well as the establishment of educational networks around each school with various partners, based on the needs that schools identify as necessary.
