On May 26, 2025, an international scientific conference entitled “Achievements, Challenges and Perspectives in Improving the Health of School Children” was held by the Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica (INZ), which brought together domestic and foreign experts from the health and education sectors.
The conference was also attended by representatives of civil society, the non-governmental sector and other partner institutions with the aim of creating joint, sustainable solutions in the field of health promotion and disease prevention in children and youth.
The conference was sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Ministry of Health of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the Health Insurance Institute of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, and the conference was attended by experts from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Spain, Malta, France, and representatives of UNICEF and WHO.
The conference was organized through three panel discussions on the topics: “Health services in the protection of children and youth: challenges, opportunities and innovations – examples of good practice”, “Multisectoral approach to the improvement of children’s health” and “Health of children in educational institutions: strengthening the cooperation of the health and education sectors” and six workshops on topics in the field of preventive examination of children and health education.
