The Pedagogical Institute of Zenica-Doboj Canton, in cooperation with UNDP in BiH, within the project “Better Governance for Faster Economic Growth” (EGG2), organized trainings for approximately 70 computer science teachers from elementary schools in the field of “C++ Programming” and “Internet Security”. The trainings were held in Maglaj from 1.-4.12., in Zenica from 5.-6.12. and in Visoko from 7.-8.12.2023.
The need for training of computer science teachers emerged as one of the key and priority recommendations of the study “Situation and Proposals for the Improvement of IT Education in Primary Schools in BiH” (link to access the study: Situation and Proposals for the Improvement of IT Education in Primary Schools in BiH | The United Nations Development Programme (undp.org)) was developed within the EGG2 project, which emphasized the need for additional education of teaching staff who teach the subject of informatics in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Trainings in the field of “C++ Programming” and “Internet Security” were aimed at strengthening the existing competencies of teachers and ensuring a better teaching process, in accordance with the trends and needs of the IT industry.


The project “Better Governance for Faster Economic Growth” (EGG2), funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Norway and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP in BiH), has established cooperation with the Pedagogical Institute of Zenica-Doboj Canton on the implementation of trainings and improvement of the existing situation when it comes to IT education. Approximately 13000 students from grades VI to IX in elementary schools in the Zenica-Doboj Canton should also benefit from the improved competencies of computer science teachers.
