On June 17, 2026, a formal reception was held at the residence of British Ambassador Julian Reilly in Sarajevo to mark the official birthday of King Charles III. Among the many guests were representatives of the Zenica Pedagogical Institute.
Traditionally, British monarchs celebrate their “official birthday” in June, regardless of their actual date of birth. This practice, which has been going on for three centuries, symbolizes continuity and connection to the long history of the British monarchy.
The reception brought together personalities from the political, diplomatic, public and cultural life of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The evening was brightened up by the performance of the British military band Blue Red Blue, which performed the national anthems of Great Britain and Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to BiH thanked the guests for coming and emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen bilateral relations and common values that connect Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom.
