The Pedagogical Institute Zenica, in cooperation with the Islamic Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Zenica, organized a round table on the topic of Inclusive Education: Challenges and Perspectives on November 26, 2024, in the amphitheater of the Islamic Pedagogical Faculty.
The goals of the Round Table were: identification of key obstacles in the process of development of inclusion in Zenica-Doboj Canton, exploration and elaboration of the role of teaching assistants in an inclusive classroom, and focusing on the necessity of selecting teaching assistants according to professional competencies and sensitization to work with students with developmental disabilities. The introductory speakers were Aida Salkić, director of the Pedagogical Institute, prof.dr. Muharem Adilović, Dean of the Islamic Faculty of Pedagogy, mr.sc. Emina Šarić-Krajišnik, Senior Assistant at the Department of Inclusive Teaching, Amila Herceg Hodžić, Expert Advisor for the Field of Education-Inclusive Education from the Pedagogical Institute, and Hatidža Fazlija, a parent whose child is a user of the teaching assistance service.
The participants of the round table were expert advisors from the Pedagogical Institute, directors and one member of the inclusive team from primary and secondary schools of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
