On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica hosted a Roundtable on the topic “Subject Curricula in ZDC – Implementation Challenges”, which was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of ZDC and the Pedagogical Institute Zenica. The Roundtable was attended by expert advisors from the Pedagogical Institute Zenica, school principals, union representatives, and teachers, male and female and competence of our students, future professors for work based on the curriculum.
By creating the curriculum of teaching subjects for elementary schools and high schools, a significant step forward was made in changing the paradigm of learning and teaching with the aim of providing better quality education to schoolgirls and students in the area of the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The idea of the curriculum is based precisely on the reduction of the number of contents at the expense of a deep understanding of the fundamental assumptions of certain scientific areas represented through different teaching subjects. Such an understanding creates the prerequisites for building complete personalities with a wide range of general knowledge ready to tackle all the information that surrounds them and comes in contact with.
The curriculum certainly represents a path to better and higher quality education. On this path, we need to provide maximum support to all teachers, professors, so that they can put the noble vocation of teaching at the service of imparting knowledge and developing skills and competencies in their students in a complex and demanding educational process.
